Students may apply for Presidential Scholarships for the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters for tuition credit in their respective Colleges. These scholarships are funded through the University's General Fund.
Eligibility. Student must: a) be currently enrolled; b) have a GPA of 3.0 or higher; c) have completed three or more courses per quarter in their Colleges ; d) show no outstanding balances in the Financial Office. Students may receive only one scholarship in an academic year
Application Procedure. Students must apply during the first week of the quarter of the Fall, Winter, or Spring quarters. Applications are available in the Registrar's Office. Completed applications should be submitted to the University Dean who will meet with the Scholarship Committee. Nominees are presented to the President for final approval. Awards will be made at the end of the fourth week of the quarter with adjustments made to the student's account.
Criteria for Scholarship Awards. The Scholarship Committee will consider the student's a) GPA b) contributions made to PSU; c) contributions made to the community; and d) faculty recommendations.
Amounts of Scholarships. The University awards $1,000 each to an undergraduate and graduate student per quarter and $500 each to two undergraduate and graduate students per quarter for a total of $9,000 annually.
Restrictions. Students may apply for only one scholarship per year. English as a Second Language students are ineligible.
