Career Center and Placement Services

The PSU’s Career Services Center provides one-on-one counseling, small group workshops, networking events, career and job listings as well as materials to assist students in their career investigations and endeavors.  Employment and career advising is available on a walk-in basis on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Monthly Workshops include Resume creation and refinement and cover letter development.  Mock interviews are available for students who want to practice and refine their skills, usually once per quarter.  Networking events will be scheduled to assist students with connecting with the leaders in the various industries in Southern California.

The Director is on campus to assist students on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 210 from 9:00 until 5:00.  She teaches a class at PSU on Mondays so she can make herself available on Monday evenings if this works better with your schedule.  You can always stop by her office, email or call to ask a question or arrange for a meeting time other than on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The 2016 Fall quarter Resume & Cover Letter Workshop schedule is: September 29, October 18, November 22 & December 22.  On each day there are two workshops held at 11:00 and at 3:00.  Please sign up if you plan to attend so that adequate space and handouts can be arranged.  You can sign up by emailing Dr. Wright at jawright@psuca.edu or there is a sign-up sheet on her office door.

The PSU library contains books on job searching, creating resumes, writing cover letters and interviewing skills.
